Lava Stone: A rock originated at the core of the earth

Lava stone or volcanic rock is the most common type of rock on the surface of the earth. This rock is the cooled-down form of the lava flow after a volcanic eruption. If you consider the lava stone's birth time, you can say it has been born with a bang!
WHAT IS IT: Lava stone is a type of igneous rock and some are known as basalt. Technically, lava is the super hot molten state of volcanic rock. In the core of the earth, hot magma is always boiling and churning, looking for an outlet. Whenever this hot liquid finds a gap or soft spot on the surface of the earth, it bursts out and pours in all directions. The hot foaming lava comes in contact with the cold air or water outside and solidifies quickly. That is the reason lava stones are porous. Even some of them look like a sponge. They are surprisingly lightweight compared to their size. They come in dark grey, black and reddish-brown colors.
WHERE TO FIND: This rock is in abundance on the seafloor, near the earth's tectonic plates, and in the valley or plain land where lava flow reached.
HISTORY AND USE: Lava stone has been around humankind forever. They are used as a building material, for landscaping, and for making jewelry from ancient times. This stone is not considered a precious gemstone as they are not a rare find. However, some countries have restrictions on harvesting or exporting them.

This dark-colored stone can reduce anger, anxiety, stress, and negativity. At the same time, it is considered a source of mental strength and courage.
CARE: If you like to use your lava stone jewelry for aromatherapy you might need to clean it from time to time. You can wash them in warm soapy water. Any shampoo or soft soap without any acidic and harsh chemicals is fine.
